The global health crisis has culminated in a substantial loss of human life and constitutes an unprecedented threat to the public, food security, and employment. Millions of enterprises faced an existential threat. Informal economy workers are particularly vulnerable because the majority lack social protection and access to quality health care and have lost access to productive assets. Without the means to earn an income during lockdowns, many are unable to feed themselves and their families.

The pandemic has decimated jobs and rendered millions of people's livelihoods in jeopardy. Millions of women and men's food security and nutrition are compromised as breadwinners lose jobs, grow ill, and die, with those in low-income nations, notably the most marginalized populations, such as small-scale farmers and indigenous peoples, being the heavily impacted.

Wealth is a substantial resource of potential economic gains, as well as escalating power and influence, foreshadows even more injustice. The reality is that the affluent elite, who live in relative safety and luxury , expect workers to risk health in order to maintain profits flowing. This pandemic is highlighting the capitalist system's rotten and ruthless nature, which favours profits over human life.

Millions of citizens plunged into poverty, while the wealthy's fortunes soared at a much quicker rate.
Employees who are well qualified and generate more revenue are considerably more likely to work remotely, permitting to get compensated, enhance their expertise, and progress their professions. Individuals who are reluctant to work at home depending upon the nature of their occupations or an absence of adequate workspace or internet connections, on the other hand, are being left behind.

The economic gender gap has worsened as well, as women have disproportionately lost work and had and had lower social protection coverage. Many people have had to juggle—or choose between—work and childcare as a result of school closures and a shift to digital education, with minimal support from government or workplace policies to ameliorate the impact.

Depth of Reality

Imprisoned in our homes —

No bustling streets,

No delightful encounters,

No nothing.

Behind the facade of society

Lies the evident status disparity.

Ironic — the globe seemed it was in pristine harmony

Yet there was a resounding scream of inequity.

Escalating power and influence,

Coexisting in indulgence —

Affluent were a marionette,

Of the ruthless capitalist system.

The impoverished dwelt,

In a hoval so dismal and rude.

And though, gnawing hunger they felt

They had not a morsel of food.

Entrapped with doubts —

Voices that cry and wail,

As their hopes went astray.

Livelihoods in jeopardy,

Persisting in the veneer of adversity.

Indeed, the crisis

Foreshadows even more injustice.

A chasm has arisen,

Between the privileged and downtrodden.

Sugar-coated mouths,

And promises that run stale.

A regime that was conspicuously silent,

As destitution becomes prevalent.

Fear follows like footprints.

There is nothing left,

To carry but your voice.
